The wedding ring

So, we're getting in the wedding spirit here at the Pennie Layne place....which means....kayak-building time! It's coming down to crunchtime as Nate only has two more days to finish up his version of the engagement ring. He despises engagement rings because 1) they cost a fortune 2) the engagement wasn't that long. That's my opinion at least. So, he decided to build Erin a kayak instead. Tis quite a time-consuming project.

It's a method called stitch and glue - the wood is stitched together with copper wire and then it is coated with glue to give it even more strength
Nate's mixing up some epoxy with some wood meal stuff that thickens the epoxy glue

There's some pretty intense inhalations and it's always good to have protection around

getting there - the view from on top of a work table (the garage belongs to Nate's boss Jonathan Brush)

the beautiful epoxy/fiberglass finish
And so, the completed work will be arriving soon hopefully - Nate has put many hours into this project and sometimes wishes he had just bought a ring instead - ha! sucker.

Diech
